The complimentary assessment is a thorough post-accident evaluation. Dr. Hamel examines you the way he would any injured patient: reviewing your history, performing orthopedic and neurological tests, assessing your range of motion and soft tissue, and documenting everything clearly for your insurance company or attorney.
For most accident patients, the evaluation is billed directly to PIP or auto insurance, so your out-of-pocket cost is zero.

Is the assessment really free?
Yes. For accident patients, we bill the evaluation to your PIP or auto insurance directly. Most patients pay nothing out of pocket for the initial assessment.
Do I need to bring anything?
Your auto insurance information and, if you have it, the police report. We handle the rest.
Do you work with my attorney?
Yes — we coordinate with personal-injury attorneys and provide the documentation they need. See our PIP page for how claims work.
What if I feel fine after the accident?
Come in anyway. Whiplash and soft-tissue injuries are often not felt until 24-72 hours after a crash — and documenting early protects your claim even if symptoms appear later.
What happens after the assessment?
Dr. Hamel reviews his findings with you, explains what he found, and discusses treatment options. There's no pressure to commit to anything on the spot.
